Panviman Resort climbs a green headland above Thong Nai Pan Noi, a crescent of sand on Koh Phangan's quiet north-east coast. Its 94 rooms and villas step down the hill towards the sea, so the bay is in view from breakfast on the hilltop to dinner on the sand. Some villas have a pool of their own; the spa looks out over the water too.
A speedboat from Samui, a cove at the end.
Fly into Koh Samui, and a short drive takes you to the pier for the resort's speedboat: about 45 minutes across the water to Thong Nai Pan, weather and sea permitting. The shared boat runs twice a day for four or more guests; a private boat takes up to eight. The public ferry to Thong Sala, with a car across the island, is the other way in.
Thong Nai Pan Noi is a long way from Haad Rin and the Full Moon Party, about 25 kilometres down the island. The resort's own beach is a cove of sand and granite boulders, with kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling gear for guests.

Choose your height above the bay.
There are ten kinds of room on the hill. Superior and Deluxe rooms sit in the hotel building; Jacuzzi Grande rooms and the family rooms take couples or families with king and twin beds. Pool Villas, about 80 square metres on average, and the smaller Pool Villas Grande each have a private outdoor pool.
At the top of the range, the Presidential Pool Suite has 121.5 square metres, with a private pool and a jacuzzi on its open-air terrace above the rocks. Every room has a bathtub, and most look out to sea.

Breakfast on the hill, dinner on the sand.
Mornings start at Pan Sea, the restaurant on the hilltop, with views over the bay and the Gulf of Thailand. Panviman Spa sits on the hill too, open from 10:00 to 19:00, for a Thai massage, a herbal hot compress, an aromatherapy oil massage or an Ayurvedic treatment.
Afternoons are for the pool, the beach or a Thai cooking class, booked a day ahead; boat trips, waterfalls and forest walks are run by local operators. In the evening, Stone Beach lays its tables on the sand and lights the seafood grill, and The Pool Deck serves cocktails and private dinners as the sun goes down.

- The crossing from Koh Samui, by the resort's shared or private speedboat or by public ferry.
- Any spa treatments, booked with the resort.
- Any extras: a private dinner at The Pool Deck, the cooking class or a boat trip.
- What is included, what costs extra, and the booking terms.
Start with your dates.
The resort's fact sheet calls January to September clear and blue, with occasional soft rain and about 26 to 32°C, and October to December sunny and breezy, with rougher seas and some heavy rain. Every boat depends on the weather, and the resort does not sail when the sea is uncertain.
Before you ask
How do we get there?+
Fly into Koh Samui. The simplest way across is the resort's speedboat from a pier near the airport, about 45 minutes to Thong Nai Pan, weather and sea permitting; it runs twice a day each way, and a private boat takes up to eight. Public ferries also run to Thong Sala pier, about 18 km from the resort by road. We confirm the current schedule with the resort before you travel.
Can we bring children?+
Yes. Family rooms, Family Jacuzzi Grande rooms and Family Pool Villas have both king and twin beds. Tell us the ages of everyone travelling when you enquire, and we will suggest the right room.
Where can we eat?+
Pan Sea, on the hilltop, serves breakfast from 07:00 to 10:30. Stone Beach, on the sand, serves Thai and international cooking from 11:00 to 23:00, with a seafood grill every night. The Pool Deck has light lunches, cocktails and private dinners, booked ahead. Your proposal shows which meals are included.
Is the resort near the Full Moon Party?+
No. Haad Rin, where the Full Moon Party is held, is about 25 km away on the island's southern tip. Thong Nai Pan is on the quieter north-east coast.
Is this a fixed three-night package?+
No. Three nights is a starting point. Tell us your dates and the rest of your route; your proposal sets out the room or villa, the crossing and anything you add, with costs and booking terms.
