Kupu Kupu Phangan: Pool Villas Facing the Gulf of Thailand
Kupu Kupu Phangan Beach Villas & Spa by Lilawadee · Nai Wok, Koh Phangan
4 days · 3 nights
Three nights is a starting point: time for a breakfast in the pool, a day out to Ang Thong and a table for two at La Vie en Rose.
Plan a stay at Kupu KupuPrivate, from about USD 180 per person per day, land only
Kupu Kupu Phangan faces west, and the whole stay turns on that. The resort sits on the beach at Nai Wok, on Koh Phangan's west coast, looking across the Gulf of Thailand to the islands of Ang Thong National Marine Park, where the sun goes down. Every villa has its own pool, so the evening can begin in the water. It is a resort for couples, for friends and for families with older children: everyone who stays is 12 or over.
A pool of your own, and the sea beyond it.
The villas are a run of steep, pointed roofs among the palms, each with a rectangle of turquoise beside it. Every villa has its own pool on a timber deck, with loungers and a table. Indoors the style is Thai in outline and Balinese in the woodwork: dark timber walls, polished floors, beds hung with white netting, glass doors straight onto the deck. Bathrooms centre on a deep stone tub.
Choose the villa by the view. Deluxe Beachfront Pool Villas and Suites sit at the water's edge, the suites behind floor-to-ceiling glass. Sea View Pool Villas climb the hillside through the gardens. Sunset Pool Villas look over the main infinity pool to the horizon. For friends or families sharing, the Family Pool Villa has three bedrooms and two pools.

Mornings in the water, afternoons out on it.
A day can start in the villa pool, with breakfast floated out on a tray of tropical fruit and pastries. Or on the beach, where yoga starts at sunrise. Later there is the 33-metre infinity pool, which runs out through the palms towards the sea, with cabanas along its edge.
The islands on the horizon make the best day out: the resort arranges trips into Ang Thong National Marine Park to snorkel over coral gardens and to dive. Back on shore, the spa offers its own Lilawadee rituals, and the Thai chef at La Plage teaches Thai cooking from the chopping board up.

Sunset first, then dinner.
Evenings belong to the sunset over Ang Thong. Watch it from your own pool, or from La Vie en Rose, a table for two on a private terrace at the highest point of the restaurant.
Then dinner. La Plage faces the water, and from Tuesday to Sunday Indian Tandoor serves naan fresh from the oven. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays a buffet is laid out by the sea, with live music and a fire show.

Before you ask
Can we bring children?+
Yes, from the age of 12. The resort takes guests aged 12 and over, so it suits couples, friends and families with older children. Tell us everyone's age when you enquire, and we will find a villa that fits.
How do we get there?+
Fly into Samui International Airport. The resort puts the onward journey at about 40 minutes by private boat and car, or about 90 minutes by public boat and car. On arrival and departure days it also runs a complimentary shuttle between Thong Sala pier and the hotel. We coordinate the transfer that suits your route.
Is the resort suitable for guests with reduced mobility?+
No. The resort states that the property, its restaurants and its spa are not accessible to people with reduced mobility. If anyone in your party finds steps or slopes difficult, tell us at the start and we will look at other options with you.
Who runs the spa and the yoga?+
The resort runs both. Its spa offers its own Lilawadee rituals, with a steam room at an extra charge, and its wellness expert leads yoga and meditation, from sunrise sessions on the beach to moonlit sessions by the sea. There is a gym too. Treatments and sessions are booked with the resort. If you would like a session elsewhere on the island, tell us when you enquire and we will check what can be arranged.
Where can we eat?+
La Plage faces the sea and serves from breakfast to dinner. Indian Tandoor opens in the evening from Tuesday to Sunday. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays there is a buffet by the sea with live music and a fire show. La Vie en Rose is a table for two on a private terrace at the highest point of the restaurant, and the resort can float breakfast out to your villa pool. Your proposal shows which dinners are included.
Is this a fixed three-night package?+
No. Tell us your dates and how the stay fits your route, and we will plan the villa, the transfers and anything you add, with costs and booking terms.
