In short

Pai Dai DMC plans tailor-made honeymoons in Vietnam for couples and for the travel advisors who look after them. Every one is private: your own car and driver, a private guide on the days you want one and nobody on the days you don't, hotels chosen for two, and a route built around your dates and the weather. While you travel, a Pai Dai coordinator is on call and you have a 24/7 emergency contact. Our Vietnamese company, PAIDAI VIETNAM COMPANY LIMITED, holds international tour operator licence 79-2057/2025/CDLQGVN-GP LHQT and works from Ho Chi Minh City.

The decisions that make a Vietnam honeymoon are few, and most of them are about timing. The beaches have different seasons, so the right one depends on your month. A night on the bay feels very different on a shared ship and on a boat of your own. And every change of hotel costs the best part of half a day, so we keep them as few as the route allows.

Our nine-day sample honeymoon gives an idea of the level. It starts with two nights in a boutique five-star on the edge of Hanoi's Old Quarter, then a night in a private balcony cabin on a luxury overnight cruise in Lan Ha Bay. It ends with five nights in a beachfront room or private pool villa on An Bang Beach, a short drive from Hoi An. A couples spa treatment and a private candlelit dinner are included.

Ways to shape it

Four kinds of day to build a Vietnam honeymoon around

Most couples choose two or three of these and leave room to do nothing at all.

  • A cruise ship among limestone islands in Ha Long Bay, seen from above

    Lan Ha Bay · Overnight

    A night on the bay

Spend the night in a suite on a small cruise ship, or on a boat chartered for the two of you, with its own crew and a route you choose. Lan Ha Bay, east of Cat Ba Island, is the quieter side of the Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba world heritage site.

  • Hoi An's old town and the Thu Bon River at sunset, seen from above

    Hoi An · Evening

    The old town at dusk

Hoi An is at its best at either end of the day. On the 14th night of each lunar month, the old town turns off its electric street lights and paper lanterns float on the river. We can time your nights in Hoi An to include one.

  • Clear water and a white-sand beach lined with casuarina trees on Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc, Con Dao or Ninh Van Bay

    A beach for your month

Phu Quoc is dry and calm from November to April. The coast around Nha Trang, including Ninh Van Bay, is in season from January to August, and Con Dao's seas are calmest from March to September. We choose the beach once we know your dates.

  • Rowing boats carrying visitors along a river between limestone peaks in Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh

Ninh Binh · Up to three hours on the water

A rowing boat through the karsts

Trang An and Tam Coc lie about two hours from Hanoi by road. You see them from a small rowing boat, on routes of one and a half to three hours through caves and rice fields between limestone peaks.

When to go

Three honeymoon routes, matched to the season

Vietnam's north, centre and south have their best weather at different times, so we start with your month. Each route can be shortened or stretched.

  1. December to April

Hanoi, Lan Ha Bay, Hoi An and Phu Quoc

The north is cool and can be grey, Hoi An dries out from about February, and Phu Quoc is in its dry, calm season. Tet falls in this window. In 2027 the public-sector break runs from 4 to 10 February; many businesses close, and flights and beach hotels fill early. Avoid it unless you want the festival.

  2. May to August

Hoi An, Hue and a central or island beach

The central coast is dry, hot and sunny, Nha Trang's coast and Ninh Van Bay are in season, and Con Dao's seas are calm. The north is hot and humid, and summer storms can cancel bay cruises, so we keep it short or leave it out.

  3. September to November

The north, Ninh Binh and the mountains

The north has its best weather, cool and clear, and the terraces turn gold in September. The central coast is in its wettest, flood-prone months and most beaches are out of season, so the trip stays in the north or finishes on Phu Quoc once November comes.

Season windows from Vietnam's national tourism website, read on 25 October 2026. Weather varies from year to year, so we plan a fallback for every boat or island day.

What we arrange for two

Hotels chosen for two

Rooms and villas compared on view, privacy and location, requested by category and confirmed in writing. Tell us it is your honeymoon and we ask each hotel what it can arrange.

Cruise suite or private boat

A suite on a small cruise ship, or a private charter with its own crew and a route of your choosing.

Car, driver and guide

Transfers and touring in your own car, with a private guide on the days you want one. Free days stay free.

Flights between regions

Domestic flights timed so that you are not up before dawn, with the luggage allowance in the quote. Some Con Dao flights use small propeller aircraft, so we check the baggage allowance before you pack.

Private moments

A dinner set up for two, a private cooking class, a boat at sunrise. We arrange what the hotels and local suppliers can confirm, and say plainly when something depends on the weather.

Questions

What couples ask us

Can you plan a tailor-made luxury honeymoon in Vietnam?+

Yes. Pai Dai plans private, tailor-made honeymoons in Vietnam for couples and for travel advisors. Tell us your dates, how long you have, the kind of hotel you like and how you want the trip to feel: busy days and a beach at the end, or slow mornings throughout. We come back with a route, hotel options for each stop and the choices that matter, such as a cruise suite or a private boat. Nothing is booked until you approve it, and each hotel, boat and flight is confirmed in writing.

Who looks after us during the trip?+

Your own driver handles every transfer, and your guide joins you on the days you want one. A Pai Dai coordinator is on call for the whole trip. Your travel documents list the local contacts for each stop and our 24/7 emergency line on WhatsApp, +84 869 624 553. While you plan, you can write to sales@paidaidmc.com or send a WhatsApp message to the same number.

When is the best time for a honeymoon in Vietnam?+

Every month suits some part of Vietnam, but no month suits all of it. From December to April, a route from the north to Phu Quoc works well. From May to August, the central coast, Nha Trang's bays and Con Dao are in season. September to November is the best time for the north and the mountains. Avoid Tet unless you want the festival: in 2027 the public-sector break runs from 4 to 10 February.

Ha Long Bay or Lan Ha Bay, and a cruise or a private boat?+

For most couples we suggest Lan Ha Bay, east of Cat Ba Island, which is quieter than the main Ha Long routes. A suite on a small cruise ship gives you a balcony, with the decks and meals shared with other guests. A chartered boat gives you the whole vessel, the crew and a route of your own, at a higher price. One night is enough to see the bay; two let you slow down.

How many nights does a Vietnam honeymoon need?+

Nine to twelve nights covers two regions and a beach without hurrying: Hanoi, a night on the bay, Hoi An and three or four nights by the sea, for example. With a week, choose one region and stay longer in fewer places. Our sample honeymoon itinerary runs for nine days and eight nights.

Can we combine Vietnam with Thailand?+

Yes. A Phuket or Koh Samui beach stay can follow Vietnam as one itinerary coordinated by Pai Dai, and regular flights link Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Bangkok. The quotation names the company you contract with and who is responsible in each country.

What happens if the weather turns on a boat or island day?+

Every weather-dependent day has a fallback. Storms can cancel bay cruises, and boat and island days can move. We watch the forecast in the week before, tell you early if a day needs to change, and rearrange the hotels and transfers around it.

Do you work with travel advisors planning honeymoons?+

Yes. Travel advisors can brief us through the trade route of our enquiry form.

“They understood exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon and took care of every detail with so much care and warmth. It truly felt personal, not just another booking.”

“It is normal for setbacks or difficulties to arise due to weather conditions or necessary itinerary changes; that is when you truly recognize a competent company. In this regard, their response was exemplary.”
