How is this different from the Vietnam Heritage Route?+
The Express route runs in nine days rather than ten and is built for groups with less time. It keeps the three places that define the country, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, and Hanoi with Ha Long Bay, and removes the Hue imperial leg and a slower pace through the centre. Travellers who want the royal tombs and citadel of Hue, and a more unhurried route overall, are better suited to the full Heritage Route.
What is the overnight junk on Ha Long Bay like?+
It is a private overnight junk with en-suite cabins, a sun deck, a dining area, and a galley where the crew cooks on board. We use a private boat rather than a shared day-cruise, so the programme stays on the group's schedule and the bay empties of other traffic by the evening. All meals are included from embarkation, and the kitchen can work around dietary needs when we know them ahead of time.
How much time is there for tailoring in Hoi An?+
Hoi An is known for its tailor shops, and the itinerary leaves free time on the afternoon of Day 3 and the evening of Day 4 for measuring, fitting, and collecting. The shops are within walking distance of the hotel, and the guide can recommend houses with a reliable turnaround. Any purchase is optional and is paid directly to the tailor.
What happens if Ha Long Bay has bad weather during the cruise?+
We book junks approved to operate in Ha Long Bay under normal bay conditions, including winter swells. If the maritime authorities restrict departure on the scheduled day, we work through the options: shifting the embarkation where the hotel schedule allows, or routing to the more sheltered Lan Ha Bay departure point. We brief the group on the contingency before they leave Hanoi so there are no surprises at the pier.
What languages can the guide work in?+
This departure is set up to run in Spanish and English, which are the primary working languages along the route. French, German, or Italian can be arranged on request, so it helps to confirm the preferred language at the time of booking so we can assign the right guide and a matching local guide in Hoi An for the cooking class.
Does this route work for both travel partners and direct travellers?+
Yes. We run the same nine-day journey with the same ground team and operational care whether it is booked by a travel partner placing a group or by direct travellers planning a private departure. Pricing is quote-based and tailored to group size, season, and the level of inclusion you need, so the route scales from a small private group to a full coach.
